In my previous article article about micro-management, I referenced anecdotal experiences I have had over a 20 year career. This screenshot of an order popped up on the internet today, and is a perfect example of the current state of micromanagement, risk aversion, and general lack of connection with the every day Marine.
Whether it be a Captain, or Lieutenant Colonel who had this drafted, he or she is absolutely petrified of losing command over alcohol related incidents. This “leader” does not trust a single person in his or her command, and intends to systematize every process or function. I can smell the barracks mold, yes men SNCO’s, and low morale from here.
Imagine creating a more out of touch, unenforceable order than this. There is a zero percent chance that anyone will follow this order, because it is incomprehensibly stupid and out of touch. Add this order and ones like it to your tool box, then throw it in the trash.

I would like to know the context of the policy as if it is a training environment i can "kind of" see something like this.
That said... Yeah... that is essentially securing an individual's liberty. Last I knew there has to be a reasonable circumstance for liberty to be secured.
